Google+ Feature: Derek Evens

Changes in the Google+ algorithm makes it harder and harder to trace posts on our profile down to specific dates, so we decided to change the Google+ blogs to a random feature.

That way - nobody can feel that somebody else was featured in a week where they didn't post, and fairness etc etc.

The random feature will be totally random, and random in it's randomness. It will be purely based on photos shared with the #AFRICANature hashtag that caught our eyes.

This week's featured photo is by +Derek Evens - lovely take on a leopard tortoise drinking water from a puddle in the road in the Kruger National Park.

This photo is the copyright of Derek Evens and unauthorised use is prohibited.

Facebook Pic of the Week: 7 to 13 September 2015

Trawling through our 2015 archives on Facebook...

Our theme for this particular week was #whyiloveKenya and we asked our contributing photographers to showcase their best images from the wonderful land of Kenya. There were great photos of elephants in front of Kilimanjaro, and cheetahs in full chase, but this photo of a pride of lions lazily lounging on a log had to be featured.

Photo by Mohit Pise - you can see more of his photos on his FACEBOOK PAGE.

Facebook Pic of the Week: 31 August to 6 September 2015

Yes, we are starting with our regular features again. Sorry about the lag :)

The theme ran for the week of 31 August to 6 September 2015 on Facebook was #OnTheWing, and it was all about birds in flight. A tricky photographic subject, especially for the little fast birds.

Our pick this week goes to Clint Ralph with this Malachite Kingfisher. You typically need a shutter speed of 1/8000 to capture these in sharp flight, and they are very small. Pretty huh?
See more of Clint's photo on his FACEBOOK PAGE.

GooglePlus Feature: Kirsten Frost

If you haven't noticed, we've fallen behind on our weekly features - haha.

This week's random feature is a photo by +Kirsten Frost - be sure to check out more of his photos on Google+
