Our Facebook Page came alive during this week with epic skies, "cloudporn" and the vastness of Africa. Our theme was #BigSkyCountry and we asked our community to be creative and share their photos that showed Africa's vast expansive skies.

There are few places as instantly recognisable and iconic as Table Mountain in Cape Town. This photo is one of the best we've seen of the bunch - and it was taken by arguably South Africa's top landscape photographer: Hougaard Malan. If you went on the AFRICANature Facebook Page last week, you would have seen that we had an awesome theme going: "Jolly Giraffes"

Members of our community posted a large variety of interesting and original giraffe photos to the theme using the hashtag #JollyGiraffes. Here are our two pics of the week (it was hard to choose one, okay)...

Our first choice goes to Anja Denker from Namibia - this photo is brilliant in its scope and execution and mood...the giraffes aren't the main attraction but at the same time they absolutely make the photo. You can check out her Facebook page HERE.

Our second choice is chosen for unique composition and thinking outside the box, as well as the soft monochrome mood. The photographer is Johan Siggesson from Malta, and you can check out his website HERE.

Facebook Pic of the Week: 7 to 13 April 2014

With all the attention that the big iconic animals of Africa get on social media every day, we thought it apt to encourage people to post photos of the lesser-noticed species during this week. We chose the theme #AntelopeAntics for our Facebook Page.

We loved seeing all the different species of antelopes and various types of behaviour displayed. There was one photo which really stood out, and was an obvious choice for this post.
