Facebook Pic of the Week: 28 September to 4 October 2015

Our journey down or Facebook memory lane continues!

The theme for this particular week was an open theme, meaning #AnythingGoes!

This fabulous photo by Gerhard Steenkamp deserves to be singled out - masterfully composed and exposed indeed...more of his work can be seen on his WEBSITE.

Facebook Pic of the Week: 27 April to 3 May 2015

The week of 27 April to 3 May saw us host an #AnythingGoes week on our Facebook Page. This "open theme" always evokes such a wide range of quality submissions, that choosing one to feature is a daunting task.

This wonderfully moody monochrome photo of giraffes on the open plains of the Central Kalahari was shared by Hendri Venter - make sure you check out his WEBSITE too!

Facebook Pic of the Week: 10 to 16 November 2014

During this week on our Facebook Page, it was an open theme again - #AnythingGoes

The AFRICANature brand is about high quality imagery. You don't have to be a professional photographer to produce high quality imagery, but you need to know your equipment, know your subject and know how to process your photos properly.

We are very happy with the standard of images being shared with the theme - but that also makes our choice as curators even harder.

This aerial photo of Giraffes in Namibia was a clear standout shot. It was taken by Jay Roode - and you can check out more of her fabulous aerial photography on her website: www.sky-hawk.co.za

Facebook Pic of the Week: 14 to 20 July 2014

We didn't choose a specific theme for this particular week's sharing from our Facebook Page. A variety of landscape, bird and wildlife images made their way into the newsfeed of our followers, thanks to our amazing contributors.

Trevor Kleyn shared this unique photo of a Spotted Hyaena  lying amidst a bed of wildflowers, being closely watched by a journey of Giraffes. This scene played out in Mashatu, Botswana. You can see more of his work on his website: www.trevorkleyn.com

GooglePlus Pic of the Week: 23 to 29 June 2014

Hello everyone.

As is customary, every week we pick one photo from our G+ and one from our FB feed to feature here on the blog.

This photo of a journey of Giraffes (that's actually the collective name for this animal) walking across the plains of +Etosha National Park in Namibia was taken by +Michel Rademaker. You can see more of his lovely imagery on his 500px profile: http://500px.com/michelrademaker

Thanks again to everyone who is starting to contribute to the AFRICANature theme on G+. Remember to tag your quality African wildlife and landscape photos on G+ with the hashtag #AFRICANature and also tag the +AFRICANature page so we can consider your work for resharing and a possible feature here on the blog.
