Trawling through our 2015 archives on Facebook...

The theme for the week of 14 to 20 September was an open theme, meaning #AnythingGoes!
This beautiful photo of a Baobab tree on the famous Kubu Island in the Makgadikgadi salt pans of Botswana caught our eye. Check out more photos from the photographer, Farida Carim, on her WEBSITE.

GooglePlus Pic of the Week: 26 January to 1 February 2015

Google+ is such a vibrant community to share your photos on.
We just love the variety of photo themes on offer for photographers of all interests and skill levels to participate in.

The #AFRICANature theme is proving quite popular and we are seeing some great images being shared.

This unique perspective of Baobab avenue in Madagascar was photographed by +Alex Lapidus...

GooglePlus Pic of the Week: 17 to 23 November 2014

The images keep rolling in - it's an honour for us to represent some of the finest talent on the internet when it comes to showcasing photography of Africa's natural heritage.

A leopard in a tree - beautifully framed by +Piper MacKay - is our choice for this week from the +AFRICANature Google+ page.

Facebook Pic of the Week: 17 to 23 November 2014

During this week on our Facebook Page, the theme was #DreamScapes - images that make you dream of Africa.

The AFRICANature brand is about high quality imagery. You don't have to be a professional photographer to produce high quality imagery, but you need to know your equipment, know your subject and know how to process your photos properly.

We are very happy with the standard of images being shared with the theme - but that also makes our choice as curators even harder.

This wonderful nocturnal landscape from the eerie Kubu Island in the middle of the Makgadikgadi Pans in Botswana was taken by Mark Dumbleton. Please do check out more of his work on his website: www.markdumbleton.com

Facebook Pic of the Week: 6 to 12 October 2014

The theme for this specific week on our Facebook Page was #TallTrees. We asked our community to show us photos of the iconic trees of Africa - in a landscape, or with an animal/bird in the frame or under the tree or in the tree, etc.

As usual, we received some incredible images to share with our community.

We as curator team would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the contributing photographers who make this community the success that it is!

This elephant seemed to have hit a roadblock on his way - we just love the quirkiness of this photo while still showing a tall tree of Africa. This image was captured by Denis Roschlau and you can see more of his work on his Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/WildlifeAddicts

Hello everyone!

Our featured photo from our +AFRICANature page on Google+ is by a travel blogger called +Susan Portnoy. You can see more of her work on her blog: http://theinsatiabletraveler.com

There are few things more iconically African than a huge Baobab tree, and to capture it in a brewing storm like this is special.
