GooglePlus Pic of the Week: 7 to 13 April 2014
Sticking to our policy this week of featuring the antelopes of Africa - let's look at our pic of the week from the +AFRICANature page on G+
+Andrew Schoeman is our featured photographer with this evocative and beautiful image of a Springbok in the Etosha National Park of Namibia. You can go to his website for more of his wonderful wildlife photography: www.andrewschoemanphotography.co.za
Thanks to everyone who is starting to contribute to the AFRICANature theme on G+...we are looking forward to building the same engagement and community spirit as we have over on our Facebook page. Remember to tag your quality African wildlife and landscape photos on G+ with the hashtag #AFRICANature and also tag the +AFRICANature page so we can consider your work for resharing and a possible feature here on the blog.

Facebook Pic of the Week: 7 to 13 April 2014
With all the attention that the big iconic animals of Africa get on social media every day, we thought it apt to encourage people to post photos of the lesser-noticed species during this week. We chose the theme #AntelopeAntics for our Facebook Page.
We loved seeing all the different species of antelopes and various types of behaviour displayed. There was one photo which really stood out, and was an obvious choice for this post.
This photo shows two Oryx/Gemsbok in the Kalahari, shown off grandly through an amazing composition and expert exposure. The photographer: Cantay Gök - you can view the photographer's website here: www.cantaygok.com
Please share our webpage with those who are also interested in the natural heritage of Africa!

Facebook Pic of the Week: 31 March to 6 April 2014
Last week, we had an open theme again on our Facebook Page - "anything goes" actually.
There were many interesting and beautiful photos shared - as usual - but this one just captured our attention. It was taken by a very talented multi-disciplinary photographer from Durban called Kierran Allen. It shows the dust and drama of a massive river crossing building up on the banks of the Mara river during the annual Great Migration.
You can see more of Kierran's work on his website: www.kierranallen.com
