Facebook Pic of the Week: 9 to 15 February 2015

Our theme on our Facebook Page for the week of 9 to 15 February was #ZebraZ - and we received a great variety of images of Africa's striped horses to peruse and share during this week.

The AFRICANature brand is about high quality imagery. You don't have to be a professional photographer to produce high quality imagery, but you need to know your equipment, know your subject and know how to process your photos properly.

This amazing altercation was photographed by Janet Zinn in the Okavango Delta, Botswana.
You can view more of her work on her WEBSITE.

We hope you enjoyed this selection. Please do share our webpage with those who are also interested in the natural heritage of Africa!

Facebook Pic of the Week: 12 to 18 January 2015

We initially intended our #FamilyFun theme to run for a week, and it ended up running for 2 weeks. In this theme, wee asked our community to share interesting moments of wildlife interaction in a family context.

This tussle between two Plains Zebra was captured at a fantastic angle! The photographer is Nobby Clarke and you can see more of his work on his WEBSITEwww.nobbysphotography.co.za

GooglePlus Pic of the Week: 31 March to 6 April 2014

It's time to reflect on the images shared with the #AFRICANature theme from the previous week. Out of all the photos shared from the +AFRICANature page on G+, this one stood out to us...

Congrats to +piper mackay for being featured with this lovely image of zebras on the African plains. You can see more of her amazing work on her website as well: www.pipermackayphotography.com

Thanks to everyone who is starting to contribute to the AFRICANature theme on G+...we are looking forward to building the same engagement and community spirit as we have over on our Facebook page. Remember to tag your quality African wildlife and landscape photos on G+ with the hashtag #AFRICANature and also tag the +AFRICANature page so we can consider your work for resharing and a possible feature here on the blog.

Facebook Pic of the Week: 31 March to 6 April 2014

Last week, we had an open theme again on our Facebook Page - "anything goes" actually.

There were many interesting and beautiful photos shared - as usual - but this one just captured our attention. It was taken by a very talented multi-disciplinary photographer from Durban called Kierran Allen. It shows the dust and drama of a massive river crossing building up on the banks of the Mara river during the annual Great Migration.

You can see more of Kierran's work on his website: www.kierranallen.com
