Facebook Pic of the Week: 4 to 10 May 2015

The week of 4 to 10 May saw us host an #AnythingGoes week on our Facebook Page. This "open theme" always evokes such a wide range of quality submissions, that choosing one to feature is a daunting task.

William Steel shared this gorgeous photo of a Dung Beetle doing what it does best...roll dung! It's not often we get to feature the smaller critters of Africa, so this was an apt choice. You can see more on his FACEBOOK PAGE

We hope you enjoyed this selection. Please do share our webpage with those who are also interested in the natural heritage of Africa!

Facebook Pic of the Week: 3 to 9 March 2014

Hello everyone! Today's post is "current" - meaning this is the actual pic of the week for the past week. Yay!

Every 2nd week is theme-week on the AFRICANature Facebook Page, alternating with an open week where anything goes. Our theme this week was "Tiny Africa", using the hashtag #TinyAfrica - all about the macro photography and smaller critters found in Africa.

This week's choice photo goes to Marcus Jooste, who portrayed a Praying Mantis with elegance, beauty and an exceptional use of available light. You can add him on his Facebook profile for more of his photography.

Keep your eyes on this blog and our Facebook Page and Google+ Page for more updates on themes in the future!
